Understanding Convexity Characteristics: The Journey from Bench to Bedside
(Recording from January 23, 2024 live event)
During this webinar, you will learn about novel research which will help clinicians translate convex characteristics to clinical practice and product selection. This presentation will support clinicians across the care continuum better understand the characteristics of convexity as it relates to ostomy pouching systems.
Objectives:
- Describe the 5 characteristics of convexity
- Discuss 2 main considerations for the use of appropriate tension location in convex wafer selection
- Demonstrate the impact of convexity characteristics through finite element analysis comparing different convex wafers
- Identify clinical cases to translate characteristics to product selection
Presented by Dr. Tod Brindle, PhD, MSN, RN, ET, CWCN / Medical Affairs Director & Phil Gowans / R&D Project Manager from the Convatec Ostomy Care team.
